UPCCC LITTLE EXPLORERS PROGRAM

14 Months to 2 Years

 

Welcome to Little Explorers!  Your baby has grown into a toddler and will soon become a two-year-old. This is a time full of changes, fun and new experiences.  In order to help your child develop his or her identity as a "big kid" instead of a "baby" and to adapt to new surroundings and expectations, we promote certain behaviors and actions using the Creative Curriculum.

Promoted Behaviors through the Creative Curriculum: 

• Encourage the use of manners, especially please and thank you

• Encourage your child to use words to express his or her emotions or questions (use key phrases such as "use your words, please")

• Demonstrate to your child how to follow directions ("That sign says "stop" so let's stop and look both ways.")

• Work and play with your child to develop self-esteem and worth (spending time with your child makes him or her feel important to you)
